Profit was $85 million or 48 cents per share versus profit of $104 million or 57 cents per share in the prior year period. The Company will pay shareholders a quarterly dividend of 13 cents per share, the payout equals a dividend yield of 2.05%.
National-Oilwell Varco Inc (NYSE:NOV) slipped 3.45% to $75.33 after the Company declared first quarter results. Net income was $606 million or $1.42 per diluted share compared to net income of $574 million or $1.35 per diluted share in the fourth quarter. Revenues increased 1% quarter over quarter to $4.3 billion.
Owens Corning (NYSE:OC) decreased 8.54% to $31.60. The Company reported first quarter net loss of $46 million or 38 cents per share compared to profit of $24 million or 19 cents per share in the prior year period. Revenue rose about 9% to $1.35 billion. However, analysts expected revenue of $1.30 billion.
SAP AG (ADR) (NYSE:SAP) jumped up 1.20% to $65.93 following the Company announced first quarter results. Net profit was €444 million compared to €403 million in the prior year period. Revenue increased 11% to €3.35 billion. The Company expects cloud subscriptions and support revenue to be between 10% and 12% and operating profit will be between €5.05 billion and €5.25 billion for fiscal year 2012.
TE Connectivity Ltd (NYSE:TEL) went up 2.29% to $35.29 after the Company announced second quarter results. Net income attributable was $257 million or $0.60 per share compared to $299 million or $0.67 per share in the prior year period. Net sales were $3.25 billion versus $3.34 billion in the prior year period. However, analysts expected the company to report earnings of $0.66 per share on revenues of $3.31 billion for the quarter.
