First Solar Hits an All Time Low After Earnings (BKH, LNT, POWR, FSLR, SWN)

 

Black Hills Corp (NYSE:BKH) went up 0.06% to $32.22 after the Company declared first quarter results. Income from continuing operations was $28.5 million or $0.65 per diluted share compared to $25.6 million or $0.64 per diluted share in the same period of 2011. The Company entered into a new $500 million corporate revolving credit facility for five years.

The Company declared a quarterly dividend of $0.37 per share.

 

Alliant Energy Corporation (NYSE:LNT) declined 1.75% to $43.88. The Company reported first quarter EPS of $0.50, beating the analyst estimate of $0.63. Revenue for the quarter was $765.7 million versus the consensus estimate of $822.13 million.

 

PowerSecure International Inc (NASDAQ:POWR) dropped 2.35% to $4.98 after the Company announced first quarter results. Revenues increased 40% to $33.2 million. The increase was driven by a 12% increase in Distributed Generation products and services, 73% increase in Utility Infrastructure products and services and 53% increase in Energy Efficiency products. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations were ($0.03) compared to ($0.04) in first quarter of 2011.

 

First Solar Inc (NASDAQ:FSLR) decreased 5.86% to $17.01 after the Company released first quarter results. Net sales were $497 million primarily due to lower average selling prices and lower volumes for module-only sales. Net loss was $5.20 per share compared to net income of $1.33 per share in the first quarter of 2011. Cash and Marketable Securities at the end of the first quarter were $750 million. The stock madeĀ  an time low $16.80.

 

Southwestern Energy Company (NYSE:SWN) slipped 6.85% to $28.84. The Company reported first quarter net income of $107.7 million or $0.31 per share compared to net income of $136.6 million or $0.39 per share in the prior year period. Net cash provided by operating activities was $370.8 million compared to $391.5 million in the first quarter of 2011. Gas and oil production rose 16% to 133.4 Bcfe in the first quarter of 2012.
