GAAP loss from continuing operations in the third quarter was $255 million or $2.27 per diluted share compared to GAAP income from continuing operations was $142 million or $1.11 per diluted share in the prior year period.
Hospira Inc (NYSE:HSP) went down 0.37% to $34.99 after the Company reported first quarter results. Profit was $40.2 million or 24 cents per share compared to $149.9 million or 88 cents per share in the prior year period. Revenue decreased 3.6% to $965.9 million. However, analysts projected earnings of 45 cents a share on revenue of $950 million. Gross margin declined 31.1% from 39.8% due to higher costs.
Huntsman Corporation (NYSE:HUN) surged up 12.50% to $15.93. The Company posted first quarter revenues increased 9% compared to the prior year period. Net income was $163 million compared to $62 million in the prior year period. Adjusted EBITDA increased 31% to $397 million.
Legg Mason Inc (NYSE:LM) is down 0.08% to $26.05 after the Company reported fourth quarter results. Net profit was $76.1 million or $0.54 per share compared to $69.0 million or $0.49 per share in the previous year quarter. Total operating revenues declined 9% to $648.6 million. However, analysts estimated earnings of $0.47 per share for the fourth quarter.
